Klinik Cegah & Rawat Influenza A(H1N1)  (“KCRh1n1”) are private clinics that have participated in the Kempen Cegah dan Rawat Influenza A(H1N1). These clinics are supplied with Antiviral drug Oseltamivir (Oseltamivir (Fluhalt)) at a lower cost and are required to charge a lower price for the treatment of Influenza A(H1N1) to help manage the flu outbreak in Malaysia.

The Campaign was initiated by Alriz and Ranbaxy and is supported by MOH, to make treatment for Inflenza A(H1N1) more readily available at the private clinics and at lower cost to the public. The Campaign was launched by Minister of Health , Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai on 20th August 2009.

KCRh1n1 are provided with necessary information updates and latest MOH guidelines for the treatment of Influenza A(H1N1)  to enable them to manage safely both flu cases and patients with other non infectious health conditions without cross infection.

These clinics can be recognized by the “Klinik Cegah & Rawat Influenza A(H1N1)” sign which are displayed at the clinics.

The KCRh1n1 listing are updated regularly and it can be obtained from our Klinik Cegah & Rawat Influenza A(H1N1) website. (www.h1n1.net.my)

KCRh1n1 will open as per their  usual consultation hours. You may wish to call the clinic or visit our  website  at www.h1n1.net.my to check on their operating hours before making the visit. Patients who require urgent medical attention should go to the nearest hospital’s Emergency Department (A&E) as per usual practice.

Laboratory testing to confirm H1N1 is not available in KCRh1n1. Some clinics may provides rapid test. There is also no need for KCRh1n1 to send all suspected cases to hospital for testing. Laboratory testing for Influenza A(H1N1) is not necessary before commencement of treatment.  Doctors would  exercise clinical judgment in prescribing antiviral on a case by case basis taking into account patient's medical condition, risk of developing influenza related complications, prevalence of Influenza A(H1N1) in the community and after weighing the risks and benefits of treatment.

Members of the public who develop influenza-like illness (e.g. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose) can visit the nearest KCRh1n1 for initial assessment and treatment. Please put on a surgical mask on your way to the clinic and avoid taking public transport if possible.  Depending on your condition, the physician could start the antiviral treatment or refer you to the hospital for further management.

Yes, but you may wish to call the clinic to check on their preparations to manage flu cases during this pandemic and their operating hours. However, the price of antiviral at this clinics may also differ from the price set by us.

No, in fact most cases with mild disease may not require Oseltamivir (Fluhalt). The doctor who sees you will decide whether you need Oseltamivir (Fluhalt), on a case by case basis, based on his/her clinical assessment.

Yes, but to lower the cost of treatment, KCRh1n1 will only charge RM80.00 for a box of Oseltamivir (Fluhalt). This charge is excluding the consultation fee by the respective KCRh1n1.

As a general recommendation, MOH has advised doctors to give Medical Certificate to patients presenting with influenza-like illness for up to 7 days from onset of symptoms.
Please do not go out when you are on medical leave, and minimize contact with other household members especially those who are at high risk for complications.  You are also advised to return to see the doctor if your condition does not improve, or if your condition worsens (e.g. becomes breathless) as would you require urgent medical attention.

In general, antivirals need not be given for pre-exposure prophylaxis (i.e. before your contact with a confirmed case). Post exposure prophylaxis could, however, be considered for contacts of confirmed cases who are at higher risk for influenza-related complications or other circumstances where the doctor feels is clinically appropriate.
Please note that as with any medication, Oseltamivir (Fluhalt) has its own side effects and should be taken only if directed by the doctor.
